October 2026 is a big month for Marvel Contest of Champions. The Mephisto Double Track Event starts on October 7, Epilogue Chapter 4 concludes on October 14, and two new champions, Colossus (Age of Apocalypse) and Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes), arrive through Pre-Release Bundles, Crystals, and Arena. New Champions in October
Colossus (Age of Apocalypse)
Pre-Release Bundles arrive on October 8, followed by Crystals and Arena on October 15. Key abilities:
- Immune to Disorient, Bleed, Incinerate, Coldsnap, and Frostbite
- Unleashes Steel Burst by double tapping Block during a Basic Attack
- Goes Berserk after Special 2 or Special 3
More Colossus details:
- Skill Champions' personal Fury Buff and Decelerate Ability Accuracy are reduced by 100%
- Steel Burst gives him the Unstoppable Passive and resets his Basic Combo Chain
- Gains Osmium Prowess via Combo Chain and Immunity, which grants Prowess, Armor Rating, and Physical Pen against Skill
- While Berserk: Special 2 and 3 cannot be activated, Unstoppable lasts longer, and Steel Burst cooldown is reduced
- While Berserk: Skill Opponents' Regen Rate cannot exceed 0% while at or below 5%
Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes)
Pre-Release Bundles arrive on October 22, followed by Crystals and Arena on October 29. Key abilities:
- Immune to all Bleed and Incinerate effects
- Basic Attacks grant +5 Speed per hit
- Uses Seek Vengeance to Shift Gears and gain a Power Gain Passive
More Ghost Rider details:
- Robbie's Hell Charger feeds off Speed and recklessness
- Speed is lost when Robbie does not strike the Opponent, and he needs to Shift Gears after hitting thresholds
- Seek Vengeance: the 4th hit in a combo gains a Grit Passive and nullifies an Energize Buff, and charging a Heavy gives a non-stacking Amplify Passive
- Places Ignition Buffs on the Opponent if they have fewer than 16 Buffs
- SP1 gains Speed and inflicts Energy Vulnerability and a Soul Barb Debuff
- SP2 inflicts a Soul Barb Passive and consumes Speed to grant Ignition
Spider-Man Noir is also featured in Crystals and Arena from October 1 for 7 days.
The Story So Far: Corruption of the Web Grows
Loose threads remain in the Web of Corruption Saga, and a rip in reality seems to be to blame. Multiversally displaced arrivals Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes) and Colossus (Age of Apocalypse) team up with Doctor Strange and Spider-Man 2099 to sort out an unraveling realm and a dimensional disturbance that threatens all Champs within it. Symbiotes, surprises, and Solvarch await as the team takes a step closer to the edge.
Mephisto Ascension: Double Track Event
The Mephisto Double Track Event starts on October 7 and runs as a 1 month pass. Mephisto joins the Ascension roster, and the rewards include:
- ELDER Selectors in the Gold and Platinum Tracks
- High Tier Catalysts and Crystal Shards
- 7 Star Signature and Relic Innate Stones
- A 7 Star Relic Awakening Gem and a Limbo Token in the final Platinum Track milestone
- Mephisto Ascension Level 1 Tokens in ELDER Selectors
A Featured Crystal run is planned toward the end of October. Grace from this run is not shared with New Releases.
Epilogue Chapter 4 and 7-Star Carina
Epilogue Chapter 4: Last Struggle concludes on October 14 and is available to ELDER Summoners. It includes one quest with three boss fights, and each boss is gated via tags. The other quests feature Ouroboros boss fights, including Emperor Doom and Carina, tuned up with new Unshackled nodes. Defeat Emperor Doom to acquire your 7-Star Carina.
The Symbiote Generals side quest is also listed for October 14.
The Epilogue story says the Loop is nearly closed and Carina is almost restored. However, the corruption of the Ouroboros will not be fixed without a fight. You will need to face your DOOM and respect your ELDER as you navigate this finale to Acts 8 and 9.
Carina Tivan and the Book 2 Finale
The Final Showdown
The Ouroboros have been destroyed and dismantled, yet a threat unbound by reality or the limits of the Battlerealm remains. Now Carina and the Summoner must close the loop once and for all.
The Chronoserpent
- Six encounters with the Chronoserpent await
- Class-gated paths are available for each class except Cosmic
- Then take on the true final boss of Book 2 with Carina
- Explore the whole Epilogue to earn an Ascended Carina
Carina Tivan Abilities
Carina Tivan is available in the Book 2 Epilogue. Her connection to The Contest fractures her Power Bar. Key abilities:
- Gains a 10% Regen Buff each time she loses 20% of Max Health
- Starts with a 3% Safeguard Buff that stays paused until she is Struck
- Her first Light Attack in a combo grants 2 Power Gain Buffs
- Whiffing a Basic, or Attacking during the Opponent's Specials, grants her 1 Power Gain Buff
- Overstacking her Power Gain above 20 grants Unblockable Buffs
- Striking the Opponent consumes 1 Unblockable to inflict 1 Armor Break
- At 10+ Unblockable, she gains a Myriad Buff when using a Special, and Myriad increases Attack for each unique Active Buff
- Gains Persistent Charge each time the Opponent reaches 1% HP, which increases the potency and duration of her Debuffs
- SP1 grants Amplify Buffs and Power Gain Buffs
- SP2 inflicts 40 Second Corrosion Debuffs
- SP3 gains 8 Unique Buffs for 12 Seconds
Carina's Challenge
All of Book 2 has led to Carina, and now she must close the loop on this story for good. Carina is the only one who can fight her Corrupted self. Take on the Ouroboros bosses again with only Carina on your team to earn Cygnus Catalysts via Special Objectives.
Ranking Up Carina
Carina is a special and unique Champion. Since she has been unmade and remade several times in the Battlerealm, she no longer responds to the abundant elements of this Multiverse as other Champions do. Rare and powerful items must be used to rank her up.
Ascension and Radiance Store Updates
Ascension Tokens are listed as tentative for the Radiance Store on October 5, and the Radiance Store limit resets on October 7. Champion Tokens for the Quarter 1 2026 Champions are added in October, with 3 tokens each:
- Doctor Strange
- J. Jonah Jameson
- M'Baku
- Blue Marvel
- Madelyne Pryor
- Pixie
- Lizard and Pavitr (additional)
Each Champion Token costs more Radiance than the last: 75,000 for the 1st token, 125,000 for the 2nd token, and 175,000 for the 3rd token.
Ascension is now capped at 6 levels instead of 11, and each level costs 2 Champion Tokens. Ascension 3 and 4 release in December.

Ascension Update Recap
- 2026 Champions: 3 tokens are added to the Radiance Store in waves, and tokens are also sourced from a new crystal adjacent to the Empowered Crystal, launching next year
- 2027 Champions: New Champions launch with 4 tokens available in-game on day one, and they are also added to a rolling crystal that holds their tokens a few months after release
- Resource availability: Tier 2 Primordial Dust, Class tokens, Nexus Greater Empowered Crystals, and Radiance availability via new sources, all becoming more available over time
- Super Duper Box 2: A second box launches in 2027, the current box is not going away, and shards for the 2nd box can be converted to the 1st
What it all means: a more cohesive Ascension system to climb, targeted roster development, and a clear loop of earning Ascension materials in-game.
Venom the Duck Saga Mini-Chase
The Venom the Duck Ascension Chase starts on October 7. Corrupted Eggs in October can be found in:

Venom the Duck Ascension Chase Details
This is a one month Ascension chase. Trade in Corrupted Eggs to open the Ascension Box. 4 Eggs are required to open the box, and it gives:
- 7 Star Venom the Duck
- Venom the Duck Champion Token
- Saga Sig Stones
- Saga Rank Up Gems
- And more
The box can be refreshed two times. Venom the Duck will be ascendable for Thronebreaker+. There are 50+ Corrupted Eggs available across the Battlerealm. More places to find Corrupted Eggs:

AI 2.0 Progress and Next Steps
Tony Stark's AI Trials continue. AI 2.0 went through rounds of internal tests last month. Good progress is being made, but the team feels the new AI still needs more work before broader testing. AI focus groups were held with members of the CCP, and the feedback is helping guide improvements. More focus group sessions are planned, and once the team is confident, testing will expand to the wider community.
